English garden and country hedgerow inspired wedding flowers
Who are we...
I am Caroline and I specialise in floral designs inspired by an English garden and informed by the seasons for weddings and events. My work is inspired by the beauty found within nature and working with it to generate an overall aesthetic bespoke to every brief I work on.
Gather & Bloom is a Floral Design studio based in Hampshire specialising in floral designs inspired by an English garden, countryside hedgerows and informed by the seasons.
Flowers evoke a personal emotion, they have such a beautiful fleeting quality and I enjoy creating designs that reflect this. I love working with colours and textures that harmoniously interplay with one another to produce an aesthetic that is both unique but with a sense of familiarity; slightly wild, humble in nature, intimate, untamed, seasonal and always beautiful.
I prefer my work to have the essence of a ‘gathered from the garden and hedgerows’ style using lots of fresh foliage, seasonal flowers as well as British flowers where possible, sourcing from local growers. Texture, colour and scent are very important in all my designs. Particular attention is placed on seasonality, the finer details and overall aesthetic to create natural designs to suit any occasion. I enjoy working with delicate blooms, trailing tendrils and twiggy branches, creating timeless designs. I make sure every detail is considered and will adorn my bouquets and buttonholes with hand-dyed ribbons.
I work with the seasons and during the British flower growing months I make sure to use as many British flowers and foliage as possible.
I make sure that I consider the mechanics of my designs and have made a conscious effort to not use Oasis floral foam preferring to use flower frogs and chicken wire.
I also like to source old ceramics, earthenware to use as vessels and recycled glass vases.
Bouquets and buttonholes are adorned with hand-dyed ribbons sourced from artisans who are passionate about producing beautiful naturally dyed materials.
Where possible the majority of our garden waste and floristry waste is composted and recycled.
