About Us

Petal and Twig offer a creative, natural floral style for weddings and celebrations in Lancashire and Cumbria. We emphasise seasonality, including locally grown flowers whenever we can. We incorporate foliage and herbs from our own mature gardens and from summer 2012, weather permitting, we hope to have a selection of field-grown flowers available.

Our inspiration has always come from the garden and hedgerows, and we like to use everything from twigs, vine and berries to spring bulbs, fruit and even vegetables in our designs. The creative possibilities of seasonal flowers are endless. We offer a range of bouquet styles from informal hand tied posies to delicate bouquets and headdresses using traditional and contemporary floristry techniques. We also offer everlasting “keepsake” bouquets using flowers made from silk waste.

We have an eclectic collection of vintage glassware, stoneware and china to use in our designs and a range of wooden and metal pedestals to give your event individuality and character.

Our ethical approach means that we avoid any air-freighted plant material and seek out local or English-grown flowers and foliage whenever possible. Dutch flowers, grown under certified environmental management systems, are preferred when English sources are not available, but we generally try to avoid flowers that are out of season. We also avoid the use of plastic floral foam in bouquets and arrangements. Detailed advice on flower and plant sourcing for green weddings is available on request.
