Who or what has inspired your work?

"India is a country where recycled and beautiful handmade papers have been manufactured in the villages for decades. By combining my passion for paper and colour along with the variety of traditional motifs and patterns from Persia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Far-East I have attempted to change the concept of 'traditional wedding invitations' in the west.

There are enough people looking for something different without wanting to spend a fortune who also care about the environment and fairtrade"

Why do you think couples should have a natural wedding?

"Being able to incorporate natural, recycled and eco-friendly products into our lives is essential.

Each individual is responsible in playing their part to help conserve the environment. Alongside this, if we can help provide a better standard of living to people in the developing world who manufacture wedding stationery, and get a high quality product in return, I believe every couple will be inspired to consider natural or green weddings and promote fair trade."

Do you have any advice to give couples planning a natural wedding?

"Don't feel like you need to spend a lot more when you decide to have a 'natural' wedding because at Vinati's Paper we provide recycled, fairly traded and beautiful wedding stationery at affordable prices unlike other 'organic products.'"

Vinati Gupta de Souza set up Vinati's Paper in 1998 in New Delhi while completing a Bachelors degree.
