Idyllic outdoor venue with beautiful views on 25-acres of centuries-old organic pasture
Who are we...
We are Mike, Annabel, Philippa, Daisy and Toby Kerby and are hoping that couples looking for a relaxed celebration with friends and relations in stunning rural surroundings will enjoy our Dorset farm and everything it has to offer.
Hayhouse Farm offers potential brides the opportunity to create their own bespoke wedding among a 25-acre organic centuries old pasture site in a beautiful, quiet location with idyllic views.
A fabulous backdrop in the field itself is supplemented by photographic opportunities in the farmhouse garden, by the lake behind the house or in the surrounding woods and orchards. Stone stables and agricultural buildings also offer a unique background.
The stunning setting is totally private and offers camping in two separate sites and car parking in the field next door. A large mowed flat area offers the opportunity to put up a marquee, yurts, tepees or bell tents, outdoor dancing, fire pits and games – whatever you like, to create whatever your dream wedding or celebration might be.
Only three miles from the A303 and close to Gillingham in North Dorset, the site is easily accessible, but also lies in some of the most picturesque countryside in the county. The bridal party have access to a bedroom and bathroom in our self-contained holiday cottage and the whole party of up to 250 guests are welcome to camp for the weekend.
Take advantage of a stunning natural canvas to experience your own totally unique and individual wedding celebration.
We run our whole farm in an organic and eco-friendly manner, and the site has been artificial fertiliser free for the past fifty years. The fields are abundant with wild flowers including cowslips, primroses, wild violets, vetch and bluebells to name a few. The planting of many trees such as oak, ash, beech, hawthorn and fruit trees since moving to the farm 12 years ago has greatly added to the bio-diversity of the farm and we would like to provide any couple who hold their celebrations here an opportunity to plant their own choice of tree on the site as a memento of their special day in years to come.
Many of the elements to your wedding will have come no further than the farm itself for example the use of hay bales for sofas and chairs, the seating for the woodland ceremonies and the logs used in the fire pits. During the celebrations themselves, we try to use local companies for catering etc. and include the option of organic picnic baskets for the wedding feast, to the reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. Campers are encouraged to leave the site exactly as they found it, with as much waste as possible being recycled, so that taking nothing away from the natural surroundings apart from brilliant memories.
