Ethical engagement and wedding rings handmade in a rural workshop
Who are we...
I started Glasswing in 2005 and since then I have been making silver, gold and sea glass jewellery and sending my work to customers all over the world. I absolutely love what I do, and continue to develop my range all the time, very often adding new pieces in response to customers' special commissions.
Eco-friendly, ethical jewellery, designed and handmade by Kate Pearse in her rural workshop in heart of the beautiful South Downs National Park.
I have been working with ethical supplies and recycled metals for over 5 years. My range of contemporary gold and silver engagement and wedding rings, and jewellery, is made to order.
I love simple lines and warm, organic textures. I enjoy working with individual customers' ideas, to create new and unique designs for their special rings.
I source gems from fairtrade suppliers, and they are fully traceable to the mines from which they are extracted, through the cutting and importing procesess. I only use recycled gold and silver from eco-friendly bullion dealers here in the UK and the US, and recycled diamonds (the ultimate non-conflict choice), many of which are certified. (I source diamonds to suit all budgets).
I also specialise in sea glass rings and jewellery using genuine sea glass found on the beaches of Cornwall and throughout the world. A small selection of jewellery and rings is available for immediate dispatch. Handmade in the UK, delivered worlwide.
The recycled silver and gold I use in my jewellery is of exactly the same purity, colour and has the same properties as any other gold or sterling silver available on the market, whether newly mined, partially recycled or 100% recycled.
I can now source more gemstones than ever from ethical suppliers here in the UK and abroad. More and more are becoming available as suppliers are becoming increasingly aware of the need to be socially and environmentally responsible in the the way they do business.
