100% British grown flowers carefully chosen to design the perfect bouquet
Who are we...
We're Becca & Maz the creative duo behind The Garden Gate Flower Company. Our passion for design and creating beautiful events is coupled with our unique approach to seasonality. All our flowers are organically grown on Becca's family farm near Fowey, in Cornwall.
Our flowers are organically grown on Becca and Penny's family farm near Fowey, in Cornwall. We use carefully chosen, beautiful flowers to design the perfect bouquet which reflects the seasons and your style. Because we grow our own, the flowers and foliage are always 'just picked', and we can grow unusual and delicate flowers you just can't find 'on-the-high street'.
We are always interested in hearing your ideas and weaving these together with our flowers to create individual, natural, wild and wonderful flowers for wedding across Cornwall and West Devon. We also offer a range of workshops, different delivery options and collaborative opportunities. See our website and sign up for our newsleter, or see social media for more information on what we are up to in the coming months.
Attention to detail is something we really care about whether you are getting married in a church or yurt, need flowers to decorate a horse-drawn carriage, an ancient archway, or a simple garden gate. Elegant or down-to-earth, let us create the perfect look with natural, seasonal flowers, ranging from simple whites and greens, to soft peaches and pinks or bolder blooms for head turning bouquets.
We can offer you the purity of single species arrangements, hedgerow inspired bouquets or cottage garden posies filled with the scent found in a huge variety of locally suitable cultivars. The content of each bouquet will be unique, put together in a consultation process with the bride and their specific requirements, and then chosen from flowers perfect at that time of year.
We can provide a personal service in Cornwall and Devon and carefully package and courier flowers for further afield. We are able to design and arrange all your wedding flowers, just your bridal bouquet or provide boxes of fresh flowers for you to arrange yourself. Contact us to discuss your ideas or come and join us on a walk through our cutting garden to provide you with the inspiration for your wedding.

We grow our flowers in-front of the farm house where Rebecca grew up. Overlooking the harbour town of Fowey, within glimpsing distance of the sea, we garden organically in tune with the seasons and the landscape.
Rebecca’s mother Penny and step-father Chris run an organically certified mixed arable and sheep farm. We try our hardest to fit into the daily routines of the farm. We garden organically, and grow wild, native species among the more common-garden plants. We have hundreds of roses, dahlias, spring bulbs and flowering shrubs and use the old, stone built stable as our workshop. We forage from the farm’s hedgerows and woodland margins where honeysuckle, wild roses and hazel, oak and birch foliage get a good seasonal prune.
Growing organically, on a farm which has been organic for a good while, means there is a richness of species diversity, in the plants we find and the insects, birds and small mammals which visit our plot. We let some of our plants self-seed, and so provide essential winter food for wildlife too. Our sensitivity to our environment, and the flowers and foliage we pick, we hope runs through our aesthetic and our gardening practice, linking the provenance of our flowers with the time and place in which they are grown.
We truly believe in the beauty of what others might deem ‘imperfect’, and celebrate the growth and decline of each plant in all its ephemerality. So we seek to strike a balance between what our brides want and what our plot can provide. We encourage our brides to really think about the place and time of year in which they are getting married and to draw out what makes that special for them. This way the flowers and foliage at their wedding fits with the particular quality of light, or colours and textures of the place. They will forever associate those flowers and that time of year with their special day, and we hope to reflect their personalities in what we do. So drawing together a ‘sustainable’ approach to growing and a sensitivity both to our surroundings and our customers, we hope makes for a unique aesthetic and adds to an amazing experience for our brides and her family.
We compost all our waste produce on the farm. We never use floral foam and rarely use wire as we aim to keep all our bouquets as natural looking as possible. We use ethically produced plant dyed silk ribbons on our bouquets by local suppliers, and when we do buy in extra flowers they are always locally grown and never imported from abroad. We have a few good friends with amazing gardens and generous hearts to whom we are very grateful and are always finding new plants and different ways to use them in our own plot. We have a very small poly tunnel which extends our season, but we don’t use artificial heat, so what we use will vary and depend very much on the weather. This keeps us constantly challenged and stops our bouquets from ever being repeated, even by us. Our flowers are natural in every sense.
