Meet Our Team
Charlie Burton - Founder
Charlie lives in Cheshire with her husband, their young daughter, and a small menagerie of animals.
'Without realising it, I’ve loved weddings ever since I was a little girl. My Sylvanian Families were forever getting married and Tom Teddy and Rosie Rabbit used to wed regularly on the staircase at home, their fellow toys lining the steps to form an aisle.
Years later, my passion was reignited by an American book about organic weddings. With a growing interest in environmental issues, I set about researching companies in the UK that offered eco-friendly wedding products or services.
From this foundation, The Natural Wedding Company has grown to become the top eco-friendly wedding directory in the UK.
In May 2011, Nick and I planned our own natural wedding. Set amidst the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, both the planning process and the day itself made me even more passionate about helping others to create celebrations that complement nature, its seasons and the stunning bounty they produce.'
Charlie's wedding was featured in County Living magazine in 2012. You can see photos and discover more about Charlie's natural wedding here.
Samantha - Features Writer & Social Media Manager
Samantha joined The Natural Wedding Company blog in November 2014. Three years prior, she had planned her own natural wedding at a beautiful lakeside venue.
Determined to create a magical, relaxed atmosphere and driven by a desire to reuse, recycle and hand make as much as possible, she incorporated wildflowers, moss, tree stumps, toadstools, lots of fairy lights and even some giant strawberries!
'I adore everything a wedding encapsulates; the romance, the overwhelming love, the bonding of families, the anticipation, the excitement, the laughter and the tears. Then there's all the pretty and thoughtful details that fill the big day! I don't think there is anything else quite like it!
I love the ethos behind The Natural Wedding Company. Filled with gorgeous ideas, real wedding inspiration and supplier suggestions, it is a great resource for brides-to-be. I'm truly passionate about weddings and excited to be able to write about other people's celebrations as a contributor to this gorgeous blog!'
Samantha lives in Dorset with her husband, and their two young sons.
Samantha's wedding was featured on UK wedding blog Love My Dress here.
